11010001010 asked: The bloke plastered all over that Age cover is not even the right person, Fairfax should be fucking ashamed.

Agreed. In terms of colossal cock-ups a media outlet can make, that pretty much tops the list.

bbbrrriiieee asked: I just found your tumblr tonight and read the whole thing from end to beginning. You're a legend.

Thank you so much! You’ve made my day, thank you for reading! :-)

I just have a couple of questions if that’s ok.
1. If the details of what is happening to asylum seekers arriving by boat cannot be discussed for “operational reasons”, why was it that the recent AFP raids came with their own media teams, including video camera operators and still photographers? Surely there must have been more pressing operational reasons for keeping a lid on the AFP’s movements?

2. Why did it take 800 Australian Federal Police Officers in two states to detain 16 people, 15 of which were released almost immediately, with no charge?

3. Why is the 18 year-old shot dead by police still being branded a terrorist when people who knew him are saying that was manifestly not the case, and the AFP confirmed yesterday that he had made no threats against the Prime Minister?

4. Why is it that a comedian with a Tumblr is asking these questions, as opposed to someone who, you know, works as a journalist?

I won’t say the Murdoch Media is deliberately sexing up the war in Iraq to improve Abbott’s standing in the opinion polls… or maybe I will, I haven’t decided yet.
